Single-Hand Texas Hold'em

Also known as: One-Hand Hold'em, Texas Hold'em Sprint

Pass-the-deal adaptation of Texas Hold'em where everyone antes, one hand is played from pre-flop through river, and the game ends immediately after that hand.

Steps to Play

  1. All players ante an agreed amount into a single pot (no blinds).
  2. Dealer gives each player 2 private hole cards.
  3. Run a pre-flop betting round starting left of dealer using agreed betting structure.
  4. Deal the flop (3 community cards), then run a betting round.
  5. Deal the turn (1 community card), then run a betting round.
  6. Deal the river (1 community card), then run a final betting round.
  7. If more than one player remains, reveal hands and award the pot to the best 5-card hand.
  8. Game ends after this hand; redeal only if the group chooses to start a new single-hand game.

How to Win

Win the pot in one complete Texas Hold'em hand by having the best 5-card hand at showdown or by making all opponents fold.

Tips & House Rules

  • Because there are no blinds, use a slightly larger ante to keep the pot meaningful.
  • Agree in advance on betting limits (fixed-limit, pot-limit, or no-limit) to avoid confusion.
  • Use a dealer button to keep action order clear even in a one-hand format.
